So, very early Wednesday morning I left for the Romance Writers of America Conference. I drove with fellow Kensington author Beverley Kendall. Almost immediately we went to the first book signing (see picture above left). This was open to the public but you had to pay for the books. On the positive side, all the money went to the Literacy Foundation. When I entered the enormous room where the book signing was held, I realized just how big this conference was. The picture above is only half of the room. I heard around 200 authors were signing. It was rather intimidating.

I’ll tell you a little secret, most authors hate book signings. Why? Because usually, unless your Nora Roberts, you don’t get many people stopping by. So yes, the first half hour of this two hour signing, I was sitting there with a smile plastered to my face, praying someone would talk to me.

Fortunately I was seated next to Dee Brice…an Ellora’s Cave author. She was super friendly and fun. After those tense first thirty minutes some wonderful people stopped by to say hi, including Kris Alice Hohls, the woman who started Love Letter Magazine. Love Letter is a German Romance Magazine. She’s super sweet and I was thrilled when she handed me the copies I was in last year (see above right). Later I had dinner with Kimberly Killion, Jackie Barbosa, Beverley Kendall and Kathleen Bittner Roth. It was an overwhelming day, an exhausting day, but so thrilling to be able to meet people I’d talked to but never seen in person.

So now, just because, I’m giving away two more books!

Enemy Lover by Karin Harlow. This book is not signed. I’m reading my copy now, and wow! It’s dark, very dark, but totally keeping me on the edge of my seat.

One Dance with a Duke by Tessa Dare. If you read historical romances, you probably know of Tessa. Her writing is amazing and I had the opportunity to meet her. In fact in the picture to the left and above, that’s me having this very book signed by Tessa!

So leave a comment if you’d like to be entered to win. Please remember to leave me a way to get in touch with you! Winner announced Friday.
